Didit Couture Fall/Winter 2014
Any Indonesian designer that has held a show in Paris Fashion Week should be proud of themselves. This Indonesian designer could not be prouder of himself (in the most humble way possible). Today we give you Indonesia's very own Didit Hediprasetyo that has made it big in the international fashion scene.
On July 6th, Didit had his 10th
show in Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week to showcase his fall/winter
2014 couture collection. We tried to stay up to watch the live stream of
the show but only managed to catch bits of it. We hope these pictures
can do it justice.
From
time to time, Didit continues to offer youthfulness through couture by
not losing the essence of couture. This time, he brings casual to onto
the couture scene where initially chambray dungarees would be an
underdog. With the hands of a skilled couturier Didit put out there the
sleekest casual pieces that make the ladies at the gala dinner you go to
wish they could have outfits that they can go out in too.
The
40's did not seem to be out of place at the show. Didit's virtuosity
with the decade's most coveted trends revived what was lost in the past
70 years; casual elegance. Skilfully tailored high-waisted trousers in
various materials from denim to jacquard thrived to be the most glorious
for their clever cut and silhouette. Little embellishments sprinkled
tops and dresses, adding a little sparkle to the rather calm wardrobe.
Couture becomes less and less of an occasional spur as it emerges with
daywear.
