What's on in Jakarta: Corto Moltedo
Italian-born designer Gabriel Corto Moltedo is not one to seek fame from under the wings of his parents' luxury fashion giant Bottega Veneta. Instead he built his own name from the ground up, rigorously learning the art of leather crafting, resulting in his eponymous leather goods line. Corto Moltedo chose Plaza Indonesia to house its first boutique in Jakarta.
The brand offers a range of leather goods such as clutches, handbags, and tech cases. Diverting from Bottega Veneta's signature intrecciato leather, Corto Moltedo opts for intricate serpentine embellishments, exotic animal skins, contemporary patterns on calfskin, and smooth goatskin.
