Giambattista Valli Couture Fall/Winter 2014
Going through photos of Giambattista Valli Couture Fall/Winter 2014's show, we had a hard time deciding on two things; have Valli made up his mind? Flowers or stripes?; and; how are we gonna make up our minds? Flowers or stripes?
But then we thought why pick? Valli thinks it's totally ok to wear both at the same time. But then again, he's not helping us with choosing.
Shirtdresses dominate the show somehow despite its number on the catwalk being less than that of the flowery frocks. Shirtdresses, both symmetrical and asymmetrical, collared and collarless, wide and tapered built the collection. Valli made shirtdresses more versatile, not only for casual day but also for a dressy evening.
Then there were these dresses with tuille skirts peppered with flower embroideries, and a chance of stripes. And we did not know mink could get along really well eith flowers, but the did by the hands of Giambatistta Valli. Just give them a look:
The white headbands worn by all of the models added a chic travelling-Frenchwoman look. All in all we agree Giambattista Valli did an outstanding job on this one.
