Celine Spring/Summer 2015
Phoebe Philo is not Phoebe Philo if she does not play silhouettes and volumes virtuously. This time she plays it big as usual, and with a chance of flowery nuances.
For Celine S/S 2015, Philo took cutout to a different level by incorporating it with her choice of rather sturdy fabrics. To balance the volume of the sturdy materials, there were light, flowy bottoms in various colors.
Celine being Celine, an outrageous pair of shoes is a must. Looking back, we have the foot pumps, the geometric-heeled mules, the furry pointed-toe scarpins, the 5-storey building-tall loafers, and the cult of life-changing footwear following behind. Now that the long line of its predecessors have had its chance in the limelight, it is time for chunky-heeled, buttery soft ballerina flats to shine. Look out for them clic-clacking around your block for the season to come.
Not a single luggage bag was on the runway. Has the luggage bag taken its retirement? Has its place been taken by its far more practical successors, say, the buckle clutch? Seems like we have to wait for another couple of months to find out.
